It has become an interesting and challenging time for Healthcare

We have many hurdles to overcome in the system. We however posses great strength in the field, with innovations, techniques and and products that continue to elevate the standard of care, impact outcomes, and improve the quality of our lives. I am privileged and excited to be a part of this. We had the opportunity to implant ground breaking technology in the past year. I was fortunate enough to implant the first “blended” vitamin e containing polyethylene in the world, most recently also the first to implant the first knee replacement that has both polyethylene components made with the E-Plus blended vitamin e technology, from DJO Surgical.

We continue to make advancements in Knee and hip replacement surgery in refining the technique, I continue to work with industry leaders to develop better and more usable computer assisted surgical devices and techniques. Working with another company, we have put into use a disposable computer navigation system for knee replacement surgery. We look forward to bringing the same technology to hip surgery. Computer assisted surgery in the past had been very expensive and sometimes very difficult for doctors an or facilities to incorporate into practice. With our innovations we have made it much more cost sensitive and easier to use.

I have been fortunate enough to utilize some of the new coatings for hip replacement components for improved early fixation and longer overall performance and durability. This should impact our long term results very favorably. Giving our patients the best that we have to offer.

I also have had the luxury to participate in our private orthopedic subspecialty hospital in Arizona. This facility is strictly geared for orthopedic patients. Our staff is dedicated to customer service and a high standard of care. This dedication is reflected in the Press Ganey Award several years in a row, high satisfaction scores by patients, and being voted best hospital in Arizona by Consumer Reports. We utilize all of the latest advances in orthopedics with a dedicated in house Internal Medicine team and Physical Therapy staff to get patients back to their normal lives as soon as possible.

I chose adult reconstruction because I had an interest in bio-mechanical areas of medicine and corrective surgery. I had the good fortune of being offered one of the most prestigious adult reconstruction fellowships in the country, which allowed me to train under world renowned surgeons. We are fortunate today that science and technology have come so far. These things, married with the art of surgery, produce better and longer lasting results. We are now using advanced materials like ceramic bearing surfaces, computer navigation systems, minimally invasive techniques and aggressive therapy. As a specialist in knee and hip replacement surgery I am excited about the excellent orthopedic facility that we have to work with. We are able to extend to our patients great care, the latest technology and materials, and a great team of physicians, surgeons, nurses and support staff.” Voted #1 in Arizona by Consumer Reports 2009
